The Paulding Putnam Board of Directors has approved a service charge adjustment due to rising costs. The monthly service charge will increase $3.50 (from $41.50 to $45). Unfortunately, our costs to provide you electricity 24/7/365 are outpacing our revenues; see the graphic on page 28 for material examples. The change will be effective on the bill you’ll receive in February (due in March).

Note: The service charge is a monthly flat fee to help cover the fixed costs of maintaining our electric distribution system (this is not related to fiber internet). The energy charge (based on how many kilowatt-hours you use) will not change.

CURRENT STANDARD RESIDENTIAL RATE

Basic Monthly Service Charge — $41.50

NEW STANDARD RESIDENTIAL RATE (as of Feb. 1, 2026)

Basic Monthly Service Charge —$45

What’s the service charge?

The service charge covers the fixed costs Paulding Putnam takes on to ensure reliable power is available to you through wires, poles, transformers, and other equipment, plus maintenance, testing, and investments that keep the grid strong. (See the graphic above.) Just like your home or car insurance, you pay for access to the benefits. Even if you don’t turn on a light at home, we must still maintain our equipment so power is available to you 24/7/365.
