Steuben County REMC members continue to make a meaningful difference across the community through the Operation Round Up program. This quarter, members awarded grants to seven local organizations supporting conservation, education, emergency services, and youth-focused initiatives throughout the region.

Operation Round Up allows participating members to round up their monthly electric bill to the nearest dollar. While the average contribution is only about $6 per member annually, those small donations combine to create a significant local impact. Since the program began in 2004, Steuben County REMC members have contributed hundreds of thousands of dollars to community projects and nonprofit organizations across the area.

Recent grant recipients include:

Steuben Arts Scenefor the continued growth of the Steuben Arts Scene Education and Event Program

Well Child Clinic Land of Lakes Family Health Servicesfor the financial medical assistance program

BSA-Anthony Wayne Area Council, Inc., to repair an existing walking bridge

Erin’s House for Grieving Children, Inc., to support Erin’s House Grief Support Services for Children and Teens in Steuben County

Community Harvest Food Bank of NE IN, Inc. for the Steuben County Farm Wagon
