BCREMC Day at the fair!

Bartholomew County REMC will sponsor the day at the fair on Tuesday, July 9. We hope you will come out and see us on Community Day. We will have a booth set up outside the fair office. Come to the booth and say hello! We love talking with our members!

Tracker to change

Reflected on mid-July bills, Bartholomew County REMC members will see a wholesale tracker adjustment effective July 1. This tracker increase, passed directly to members from our power supplier, Hoosier Energy, will be  $0.000284 per kWh. That makes the total per kwh $.109704.

The easiest explanation of a tracker is that it is a billing adjustment to cover the fluctuating cost of power we purchase and distribute from our power supplier, Hoosier Energy. The tracking mechanism recovers variable production costs (fuel — including coal and natural gas, wholesale power market purchases, operations and maintenance, and emissions regulations) incurred by Hoosier Energy during a specific period. The tracker is adjusted quarterly and the amount you pay will vary depending on the electricity you use.

Fish fry Aug. 9

On Friday, Aug. 9, the BCREMC annual fish fry to support the United Way of Bartholomew County will be held at the cooperative’s office. Fish sandwiches, side items, drinks and baked goods will be for sale from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Have lunch to support the United Way! The lunch will be sponsored by Brownstown Electric  Supply with all proceeds benefiting the United Way and is open to the public.
