New meters will help us serve you better

Southern Indiana Power crews started installing new, automated meters last month and will continue to install new meters over the next 48 months. Replacing your meter will only take a few minutes. You may notice a brief interruption in power during the exchange. However, reliability and electric service will not be affected.

The new automated meters will increase the efficiency and reliability of our electric system. Improving both operations and delivery helping us keep your costs down.

This new technology allows us to detect problems more quickly and locate outages more precisely. Please remember, there will still be instances where power outages are hard to eliminate such as lightning strikes, equipment failure, trees falling on lines, and
other various issues.

The new meters will continue to help consumer members understand their use through SmartHub if they choose to do so. Crews will continue in lower Spencer County and move from west to east through our service territory.
