Derby, Indiana, is truly one of the hidden gems in Southern Indiana. Nestled along the Ohio River, this community is composed of industrious and friendly folks who all pull together to make their community better and better.
In 2016, this small town was home to several businesses, a new community center, and the scenic Mulzer Park. New homes were sprouting up on the beautiful hills and ridges overlooking the river. The one missing piece was a store to serve locals and visitors to this area. This was remedied when Paula and Barry Stiles decided to build The Derby Market on land that used to house the Derby Operations of The Mulzer Brothers Rock Quarry.

The Derby Market opened on March 9, 2017. This charming country store offers 24-hour fuel, Noble Roman’s Pizza, Merkley Deli Meats and Sandwiches, handmade ice cream from Zac’s Creamery, as well as a great assortment of grocery items. You can also source camping and fishing supplies, as well as gift items from local artists and craftsmen. The Derby Market annually hosts numerous functions featuring Jeeps (modern and vintage), motorcycles, and classic cars.
In 2021, The Market expanded its family’s touch by welcoming Paula’s son, Andy, and his wife, Morgan, into the business. With Andy and Paula managing the day-to-day operations and Morgan directing the marketing initiatives, The Derby Market truly lives by its tag line – “Making Country Living a Little More Convenient.”
