Marshall County REMC’s 86th Annual Meeting will take place on Tuesday, April 1, 2025, as a pre-recorded virtual event. Members can watch at their convenience and stay informed about the cooperative’s progress.
Voting information
Voting opened on Monday, Feb. 24, at 7 a.m. EST and closes on Monday, March 24, at 11:59 p.m. EST. Members can vote online, by mail-in ballot, or through the SmartHub app/web portal.
Why your vote matters
Annual meetings are a fundamental part of the cooperative model, reinforcing the principle of Democratic Member Control. Electric cooperatives operate as democratic organizations, allowing members to participate in key decisions.
This year, three board members will be elected or re-elected to serve three-year terms on the seven-member board. Directors play a crucial role in setting policies and guiding the cooperative’s direction. Every member has an equal vote, ensuring fair representation. Whether you run for a board position or vote for a candidate, your participation helps shape the cooperative’s future.
The meeting will also provide a financial overview, reflecting the cooperative’s commitment to transparency and accountability. Members will receive clear and concise financial reporting to better understand the co-op’s financial position.
Member appreciation and prizes
In addition to conducting important business, the Annual Meeting is a time to celebrate our members. Those who vote will be automatically entered into a drawing for a chance to win a $50, $150, or $500 REMC bill credit. Winners will be announced during the Annual Meeting, and the results will be posted on our website at marshallremc.com. A list of the bill credit winners will also be published in the May issue of Indiana Connection.
We encourage all members to vote and watch the meeting online on April 1. Past meetings can be viewed on our YouTube channel at youtube.com/@marshallcoremc7736
