Tipmont Journeyman Lineman Bob Palmer is featured in this year’s Lafayette United Way campaign thanks to his work with the Big Brothers Big Sisters program.
According to his poster, “A few years ago, I met a friend of mine who was serving in the Big Brothers Big Sisters program, and I saw firsthand the impact he was having on the child he was mentoring. I’d had problems in my own childhood — got into drugs, took advantage of my parents, shameful stuff. After I straightened up, I wanted to make up for those mistakes somehow. So I became a Big Brother myself. If it just keeps even one child off the path I took, it’s worth it.”
Thanks and kudos to Palmer for being such a big part of this important community organization.
