LaGrange County REMC: More than a co-op

When people think of LaGrange County REMC, they more than likely think of the bill they receive every month or their power being restored after a storm or accident.

But the cooperative is more than just electricity. We’re a community organization made up of local residents who care about those we serve.

That’s why we provide more than what flows through the lines.

Rebates

Through our POWER MOVES® program, we provide cash rebates to our residential and commercial members for their energy-efficient choices in construction or renovations. It’s as easy as making a call to our energy advisor, Jake Taylor, to see how we can help you save now and in the future.

Use alerts

Download our LaGrange County REMC app or visit our member service center on our website, lagrangeremc.com, to set up alerts that will notify you when your use hits a certain threshold on a daily or hourly basis. These alerts can make you aware of high use much more quickly than waiting 30 days for the next bill, so you can make the change needed as soon as possible.

Energy audits

Our energy advisor provides free walk-through audits of customers’ homes and businesses to help you find ways to make your home more energy efficient, saving you money now and in the future.

Payment options

Technology is constantly changing, and we want paying your bill to be as hassle-free as it can be. We provide payment options multiple ways: online, through our mobile app, over the phone, at our office, by mail or by setting up auto pay, budget billing or prepaid accounts.

Cash back

Each year, we give money back to our customers in the form of capital credits. This check or bill credit is our way of giving back revenue to our members, those who originally gave it to us. We’re not in the business of making a profit; we’re in the business of providing reliable service to our members.

Operation Round Up

Thanks to nearly 75 percent of our members, we’ve been able to give $500,000 back to our community through Operation Round Up grants. These members allow us to round up their bill each month, with these pennies going to local nonprofit organizations benefitting youth, families and more.

Environmental impact

The cooperative provides multiple programs to help our members in their aim to go green. Our Co-op Solar program is a way for members to purchase power generated exclusively from solar arrays built by our power supplier. If you want to give back to environmentally-friendly community projects, sign up for our EnviroWatts program. Pay an additional 1 cent for the first 500 kWh of use each month (maximum of $5), which will go toward supporting nonprofits helping the earth.

Personal connection

When you call our office during business hours, you’ll be greeted by our friendly and knowledgeable customer service representatives, who live in the same community as you. They’re quick to pick up the phone to make sure you receive timely and reliable service, always.
