To keep you informed of your cooperative’s operations and activities, the following are highlights of the July 29 board meeting. 

• All directors were present along with CEO Steve Seibert and Administrative Assistant Lisa Hinton.
• The June 29, 2026, board meeting minutes were reviewed and approved.
• The vouchers were reviewed and approved.
• The director’s reports were reviewed and approved.
• Seibert provided an update on the office construction project. 
• Seibert reviewed the Strategic Plan with the board.
• The CEO report was given, with Seibert reporting on the following items:
  • Manager of Member Services position
  • 2028-2031 work plan kickoff meeting
  • MISO EEA 2 event July 15
  • Upcoming budgeted truck replacements
  • NISC/Meridian merger approved
  • 2027 NRECA dues
  • NRECA Rate Payer Protection Pledge
  • 2027 legislative update
  • Fiber project update
  • Reported the following meeting dates: IEC Lineman Rodeo, Aug. 20-21, NRECA Regional Meeting, Sept. 9-11, and IEC Legislative Fly-In, Sept. 16. 
• Eric Truitt, safety and risk management instructor with IEC, conducted job site observations on July 16. Patrick Dowell, training and safety at Hoosier Energy, conducted solar energy skills improvement training on July 23. Seibert advised that there were no lost-time accidents and no public liability claims to report.
• The board adopted a resolution to approve the Power Requirements Study.
• The board approved revisions to board policy # 310.4 – Office Hours, Employee Hours of Work, and Overtime.  
• Chairman Jeff Vogel distributed CEO and board evaluation forms. 
• A Wage and Salary Committee meeting has been scheduled for Aug. 20.
• Seibert and Directors Randy Kleaving and Gary Waninger reported on an Annual Meeting Committee Meeting held July 21.
• Waninger reported on the Hoosier Energy board meeting held on July 13.
• Kleaving reported on the IEC Director Retreat that was held July 24-25.
• The next regularly scheduled board of directors meeting will be on Wednesday, Aug. 26.
