As a Kankakee Valley REMC member-consumer, you are more than just a consumer of electricity. You are an owner in the cooperative, and that comes with special privileges.  One privilege is your ability to serve on the board of directors for your cooperative.

Your electric cooperative is run by a democratically elected board made up of cooperative member-consumers. These individuals are local leaders who want to be part of something that positively impacts the community in a big way.

At the June 16, 2022 member appreciation day and annual business meeting, the membership will be electing a director from district 1 and district 2.  If you reside in one of those districts, we encourage you to consider running in the election.

District 1 includes Boone and Pleasant townships and the western portion of Porter Township in Porter County and all areas served in Lake County.

District 2 includes the eastern portion of Porter Township and Westchester, Pine, Jackson, Washington, Morgan, Center, Union and Liberty townships of Porter County.

Interested member-consumers must complete a petition requiring the signatures of 15 member-consumers from within their district. In addition, interested candidates must attend a mandatory informational meeting in late March. Additional information and requirements can be found in the director petition packets available beginning on Jan. 10. You can obtain a packet by calling the KV REMC office or at kvremc.com. No nominations for director positions will be accepted at the annual meeting on June 16, 2022.

We encourage you to get involved and actively participate in the unique opportunity you have as a member-consumer. Your involvement will help the cooperative continue to impact all member-consumers and the communities we serve.
