High school seniors: Apply for a local scholarship

  • Applicant must reside in the home of a parent or legal guardian who is a Jackson County REMC member and receives electric service from REMC.
  • Applicant must be a high school senior who has been admitted to a two-year, four-year or technical school in Indiana for the upcoming fall semester/quarter.
  • Special consideration will be given to an applicant attending school to study careers in the field of business, information technology, engineering, communication, marketing, human resources, accounting or utility-related fields.

REQUIREMENTS

  • 300-500 word typewritten essay will be required on the topic: Who powers you?
  • Official grade transcript
  • Personal letter of reference
  • Student’s Current Headshot (This will only be used if chosen to receive a scholarship.)

APPLICATION PROCESS

  • Three scholarships will be awarded at $1,000 each. Applications will be available at several local high school guidance counselor’s offices, from the Jackson County REMC office or online at www.jacksonremc.com/senior-scholarship-2024.
  • Homeschooled students, children of Jackson County REMC employees who are members, and directors’ children are also eligible.

DEADLINE FOR APPLICATION

Return the application to the Jackson County REMC office by April 5, 2024.

SELECTION PROCESS

A scholarship committee will be composed of employees of Jackson County REMC.
