The last few months have been difficult for so many of our members. At Clark County REMC, we recognize that many families have experienced job losses, reduced hours, and other financial pressures caused by the COVID-19 health crisis. Because of those hardships, I am choosing to hold off service disconnects until September at the earliest, and that could be pushed further back if the state of Indiana or other authorities extend protections again. This pandemic is unlike anything we’ve seen in 100 years, so REMC wants to dig deep to find solutions to help each family make it through this.
When the time comes for disconnects to resume, we will have several options to help you. First, we are working closely with community agencies to provide payment assistance to those who qualify. Give us a call and we can put you in touch with those who can help. Second, you can switch to a Prepaid Electric account which lets us refund your security deposit immediately. For some members, that means hundreds of dollars off their bill instantly! And third, you can set up a custom payment arrangement to pay off your old balance. Just tell us how much you can pay and how many months you need, and we will do our best to make it work.
Clark County REMC is committed to helping every member get through this. As an electric co-op, we’ve always known that we are stronger together, and that hasn’t changed.
