HCREMC offers new scholarship program

group of multiracial graduates holding diplomaNew this year, through Operation Round Up, HCREMC will offer two types of scholarship awards to the membership.

The first award is our traditional award opportunity — a one-time $1,000 scholarship award offered to six high school seniors with a parent or guardian living in the HCREMC service territory. Applicants for this award must have a 3.0 GPA or higher through the first semester of their senior year. Application deadline is March 24.

The second award is for our nontraditional member-students. We offer a one-time, $5,000 scholarship award to one deserving student. Applicants must be an HCREMC member who is returning to complete an interrupted education and is between the ages of 25 and 55. Applicants must be enrolled in an accredited vocational school, or a two-year or four-year college and have a high school diploma, GED or HSE/TASC certification. Application deadline is June 9.

Applicants for either type of scholarship award cannot be the son, daughter or grandchild of an existing employee or director of the HCREMC or the HCREMC Operation Round Up Board.
