This month, I wanted to let you know about a group that is being established for the next generation.

Fulton County Upcoming Empowered Leaders (FUEL) is a new fun group created to help connect young leaders and young workers to each other and their community. Its goal is to create a young, inclusive community for all workers, regardless of what field they are in. Organizers want to ensure that local businesses have a sustainable workforce in Fulton County, Fulton County High School graduates have options, and the next generation of leaders is ready to build a strong county.

Fulton County REMC employees are a part of the dedicated team undertaking this program, which hopes to address several areas, including the workforce, “brain drain” and business succession planning. These issues affect many rural counties across the nation. For your cooperative to grow and succeed, we collectively need to work to solve these issues.

The group has a call out meeting planned for Wednesday, Dec. 5, at the Fulton County Library at 11:30 a.m., and we hope you will consider attending.
