  • One page from comic book
  • One ruler
  • One pen or pencil
  • One pair of scissors
  • One piece of cardstock paper or file folder
  • One bottle of craft glue
  • One roll of packing tape
  • One single hole punch
  • Embroidery floss, yarn or thin cord

What to do:

  • Using a ruler and a pen or pencil, draw two 2″ x 6″ boxes on a comic book page. Cut them out.
  • Trace one of the pieces of paper on the cardstock paper and cut the 2″ x 6″ cardstock box. (We recycled an old file folder!)
  • Glue one of the cut comic book pieces of paper onto each side of cardstock.
  • If you did not place the paper on the cardstock exactly, trim the edges so the cardstock is not visible.
  • Apply clear packing tape to front and back of bookmark.
  • Trim excess tape.
  • Punch a hole in the middle of the bookmark next to the top edge.
  • Cut two pieces of cord that are each twice as long as the height of the bookmark.
  • Thread both cords through the hole together and tie a knot along the edge of the bookmark, leaving the remaining cord extending from the bookmark.
