Employee spotlight

Steve Fortwendel has been employed at the co-op for nearly 17 years. He was hired Oct. 1, 2001. He graduated from the Hoosier Energy Apprentice Training and Safety (HEATS) program to become a journeyman lineman in October 2005 and earned an associate’s degree through the lineworker technology degree program. Fortwendel also served as a leadman for the line crew. He accepted his current position of line superintendent in May 2012.

Fortwendel resides in Perry County with his wife, Tasa. They have two sons, Hayden and Mason. 

When he isn’t working, Fortwendel enjoys being outdoors, camping, boating, coaching and watching his boys’ sporting activities.
