One of the most important parts of Heartland REMCs Annual Meeting will be the election of directors to serve a three-year term on the board. This year, there are elections for four board districts including Districts 1, 4, 9, and 10.
As with other electric co-ops, Heartland REMC members have the right to choose board members, who are charged with making major decisions about the co-ops direction.
Under the co-ops bylaws, each director is responsible for appointing one member of the Election Committee from their respective district. The Election Committee met on April 22, 2025, to review and approve the petitions of candidates seeking election to the board.
Members of this years Election Committee include:
Adam Renbarger, Amanda Boggs, Jane Swanquist, Todd Williams, Chris Gibson, Zack Krinn, and Kenny Yake. Austin Greer, Skip Smalling, Allen Davis, and Ryan Carroll were absent. Christy Barlow, Human Resources Manager for Heartland REMC, and Aleasha Boling, Parr Richey attorney, also attended.
The Nominating Committee reviewed and verified each candidates petition. Four petitions were approved. The candidates are:
- JASON DAWES, INCUMBENT
- District 1
- LAURA COLE, INCUMBENT
- BRENT MCKILLIP
- District 4
- ALAN AMICK, INCUMBENT
