Dubois REC will sponsor high school students on the trip-of-a-lifetime through the annual Indiana Youth Tour to Washington, D. C. The 2026 tour takes place June 14-21.
Students entering their senior year in 2026 are eligible to attend this all-expense-paid trip and are selected by their local cooperative to participate.
Indiana will send a delegation of students from throughout the state to convene with other students from across our nation.
“Dubois REC is pleased to provide this opportunity for our local youth,” Joe Henson, Dubois REC General Manager and CEO said. “It’s a great trip and a wonderful chance to see the sites, make new friends and learn how everyone, even young people, can make a difference in the political process.”
Applications and detailed information about the Youth Tour are available on our website, duboisrec.com, under the “Community” menu. Applications are due Feb. 13.
Students participating in the trip will first meet in Indianapolis for an orientation. They will then visit the Flight 93 Memorial and the Gettysburg Battlefield on the way to the nation’s capital. Once there, they will tour sites such as Arlington National Cemetery, National Museum of the Marine Corps, and Smithsonian museums.
The students will also visit the Lincoln, Jefferson, Martin Luther King, Jr., and Franklin D. Roosevelt memorials, meet friends from across the country and much, much more.
The Indiana Youth Tour students will also participate in a youth event hosted by the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association and spend a day on Capitol Hill, where they will have an opportunity to meet with Indiana’s congressional delegation to ask questions and share their thoughts on a variety of timely issues.
