Your KV REMC crews are working to deliver safe and reliable electricity to your home and business. In this section, we will provide you with details on projects and areas of focus this month. 

FIBER MAKE READY: Kankakee Valley REMC crews will be performing system improvement requirements in preparation for attaching fiber-optic lines to the electric poles. This work includes maintenance and the replacement of poles when necessary. Crews will be working in eastern LaPorte County and the areas of Knox and North Judson in Starke County. 

ElectriCom, contractors placing buried and aerial fiber around the KV REMC system, will begin construction on Phase 2 of the three-phase project. They will start in LaPorte County this month and move to Starke County, placing the fiber-optics. 

LINE CONSTRUCTION: contract crews will begin working in the Lakes of the Four Seasons area in preparation for the upgrades planned to the Porter Substation.   

This project will increase the capacity of the tie lines. Line rebuilds will start this month on the east side of Lake of the Four Seasons on 725 W. in Porter County and on the south side of Lakes of the Four Seasons on 275 S.
