In this section, we’ll tell you where our maintenance and construction crews will be and what they will be doing.

Fiber Make Ready — KV REMC crews will be performing system improvement requirements in preparation for attaching fiber optic lines to our electric poles. This work will be done in southwest Valparaiso, Kouts, Wanatah and Hanna areas. 

Yates Engineering, a contractor providing fiber optic engineering for the cooperative, will be conducting pre-construction inspections in the areas of Oregon-Davis School, Fish Lake, Walkerton, North Judson and Hanna.  

Line Rebuilds — As part of our continuous commitment to service and safety, our contract crews will be rebuilding sections of line in the following areas near Valparaiso: 

• Sager Estates subdivision
• 450 East around State Rd. 2

Substation Maintenance — To improve performance and reliability, KV REMC crews will be performing maintenance to the following substations. This work will take place at the substation and adjacent areas.

• Whispering Pines: Serves the Fish Lake, North Liberty and Walkerton areas
• Kouts: Serves the south Morgan Township area to the Kankakee River
• West Toll: Serves Jackson Township, Chesterton, Westville and northern Valparaiso areas
• Washington: Hanna, LaCrosse, Wanatah, Washington Township and Morgan Township areas
