Clark County REMC is proud to support our area high school graduates by providing scholarships that will help them further their education.

It’s hard to believe that June is already here. Summer will soon be in full swing, and one of the best parts of this month is the chance to see so many young adults in our community graduate from high school. As a father of three, I have great memories watching my children graduate from high school. I know the excitement (and anxiety!) that families feel watching their children grow into adults.

I am happy to congratulate all 20 students in our service area who were awarded $1,000 scholarships to attend Indiana University Southeast, Ivy Tech Community College, or Purdue University Polytechnic New Albany. Each student submitted an application and essay for consideration, and I am excited to see the great things that each of them will accomplish for our community and our country in the years to come. See a list of scholarship winners here.

One of the best investments Clark County REMC can make is in the youth of our communities, and we’re proud to continue supporting their aspirations. To date, your board of directors has awarded more than $200,000 in scholarships to motivated students over the last 22 years. Studies indicate that 75 percent of students who further their education locally remain here after graduation and make contributions back to their communities. Clark County REMC is happy to help feed our local brain trusts to help our communities continue to thrive.
