As a significant cost-saving measure, we apply capital credits of $600 or less to your active account if the credits are due to you. However, a check will be issued for credits of $600 or more. CEO Jon Rich commented, “We are always finding ways to save the cooperative money. This process helps us serve the members more efficiently and saves the cooperative thousands of dollars in processing and postage.”

Capital credits are being returned to members who were on the lines in 2002, 2005, 2006, 2022. Some of these credits are from Jasper County REMC and some are from Wabash Valley Power Alliance (WVPA), our generation and transmission cooperative who procures our power. The Jasper County REMC directors have decided that our members should have the WVPA credits, as well. Active members will see this amount as a credit on your bill that will be sent at the end of November.

CAPITAL CREDITS FOR PAST MEMBERS

We will still be issuing paper checks to members who have moved off our lines.
