District 3: Washington and Veale townships in Daviess County

Schuckman

Brandt Schuckman has spent his entire professional career as a resident of Washington Township in Daviess County. He is a 1992 graduate of Vincennes Lincoln High School and earned his bachelor’s degree from Cornell University in Ithaca, New York, in 1996. He later received a master’s degree in physiology and biophysics from Indiana University. Schuckman has also completed the Credentialed Cooperative Director program certification through National Rural Electric Cooperative Association. 

Since 2000, Schuckman has worked as a quality control chemist at Grain Processing Corporation in Washington, Indiana.

Schuckman; his wife, Kallie; and their daughter, Kyra, are active members of Bethany Christian Church in Washington. Schuckman and Kallie are also the parents of their late son, Cooper, who passed away at the age of 16 (2009–25). The Schuckmans own and operate a farm in Daviess and Knox counties, where they grow corn, soybeans, and wheat. They also run K&C Ag Services LLC, which includes a crop insurance division serving farmers across Southern Indiana.

Schuckman’s family has deep roots in the electric power sector and electric cooperatives. His father, Daniel Schuckman, served more than 30 years as a director at WIN Energy REMC and was also a former director at Hoosier Energy.


District 6: Halbert, Lost River, Rutherford, and Mitcheltree townships in Martin County

Bauer

August Bauer has served as a director for REMC since 1972, holding every office on the board during his tenure. From 2001 to 2016, he represented DMREMC on the Hoosier Energy REC, Inc., board of directors.

He and his wife, Helen, reside in Shoals. Bauer is a proud father of four, grandfather
of eight, and great-grandfather.

A retired farmer, Bauer remains active in his community. He is a devoted member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Dubois, where he sings in the choir and serves as a lay minister. His civic involvement includes serving on the Martin County Sheriff’s Merit Board and the Martin County Council on Aging Committee. He also delivers Meals on Wheels and regularly entertains residents at local nursing homes by singing and making music.

In his free time, Bauer enjoys spending time with family, fishing, mowing, and maintaining his home with the help of his wife.
