Bringing you community solar

Southern Indiana Power is excited to offer a community solar program called My Solar. We understand that in our region, it may be hard for some of our members to do this on their own. Trees, permits, financing and roof issues may have been roadblocks in the past. But not anymore.

This program allows any member to use solar energy at his/her home or business without installing or maintaining a private solar project. Member participants are able to share in the output from one of 10 solar arrays already located around southern Indiana. The power generated at the solar arrays is transported from the arrays through the poles and wires Southern Indiana Power has already built and maintains. Nothing new needs to be attached.

The My Solar program offers members the opportunity to lease one share of the community solar project. One panel is equivalent to the energy from one solar panel. The size of the panels varies between the 10 solar sites, but averages about 330 watts. In one year, one share will produce about 450 to 500 kWh. Southern Indiana Power participants will pay a one-time upfront lease of $500/panel for participation in My Solar. Each month the output of the panel is then deducted off your electric bill. Detailed information on the payment plan can be found on our website,

The My Solar program will work for any property — home or business. Now you can support renewable energy without the hassle of ownership. Southern Indiana Power is pleased to offer this great opportunity that allows you to decide where your energy comes from. If you have questions or are interested in the program, see our website for detailed information about how you can participate, or call us at 800-323-2316 to discuss the program.
