Happy spring! I cannot believe it is April, and I have already celebrated my first year here at Decatur County REMC. The first year was one of learning, understanding, and developing a focus. In starting this journey, I made commitments to the board and members and am pleased to say that, with the help of my team, I have been successful in understanding the cooperative business model, understanding the wants and needs of the members, employees, the board, and the community. I am excited about where we are and what we have planned for 2018 and beyond.

My team and I, along with the board of directors, have identified strategic focus areas that we feel are critical to our operations and we have since developed goals for 2018 around those focus areas. We are currently in the execution phase of our 2018 goals and projects and are beginning to consider projects and plans for 2019.

Using the Touchstone Energy model, we are building a strategic process that will move projects from a planning phase, to alignment with our strategic focus areas, through the execution phase. This will help streamline our efforts from board vision through the budget cycle allowing us to maximize our resources.

Focused on the future, we continue to identify ways to improve our service to you and plan to conduct brainstorming sessions around efficiency, reliability, and sustainability in the coming months.

As always, I am actively seeking members to engage with my team and myself. If you are interested and have ideas to share, please call the office 812-663-3391 so we can schedule a meeting, or simply stop in and ask for me.
