Every summer, Kankakee Valley REMC invites students in the sixth grade to apply for a camp experience unlike any other summer camp. Camp Kilowatt, formerly called Touchstone Energy Camp, allows students to learn about the electric cooperative industry and electricity, participate in fun summer activities, and make new friends.

This year, KV REMC was excited to send Chloe Fasshauer, Kaylee Fricke, and Emma Marks, South Central Elementary School; Drake Huff, Taylor Johnson, and Austin Wehmer, Knox Middle School; Landon Rebus, Westville Elementary School; Braden O’Halek, Benjamin Franklin Middle School; and Kailynn Nemeth, Kouts Middle School.

This four-day and three-night camp included tons of fun outdoor activities like swimming, canoeing, zip-lining, archery, horseback riding, a climbing wall, field games and campfires.

If you have a son or daughter that might be interested in attending next year, watch for details on youth summer programs in January 2023.
