INDIANA YOUTH TOUR

Dates: June 14-21

Indiana’s electric cooperatives sponsor students going into their senior year of high school to take part in a life-changing educational adventure to Washington, D. C.

Highlights of the week-long trip include visits to historic monuments and museums, meetings on Capitol Hill with Indiana’s congressional delegation, the opportunity to make lifelong friends, and much more. Application deadline is Feb. 13.

COOPERATIVE STUDENT ART CONTEST

Indiana Electric Cooperatives’ Student Art Contest is open to all K-12 students who want to showcase their artistic talents. A first-place artist will be selected for each grade level, and each winner will receive a $100 prize. Honorable mentions will also be selected and awarded $50 each. Winning artwork may be featured in Indiana Connection and exhibited throughout the annual meeting in Indianapolis. Deadline to apply is Feb. 27.

SCHOLARSHIPS

LaGrange County REMC annually awards three $1,000 scholarships to help area students further their education at an accredited college or trade school of their choice.

The only requirements for applying are that the student must be an actively enrolled senior, the primary residence of their parent(s) or legal guardian(s) must be within LaGrange County REMC’s territory and they must be members in good standing with the co-op. Scholarship applications are due March 24.

CAMP KILOWATT

Dates: July 26-29

Camp Kilowatt is a fun and unique camp experience for sixth grade students going into seventh grade across Indiana. In 2026, the program takes place July 26-29 at Happy Hollow Children’s Camp in Nashville, Indiana. Kids can learn more about energy while making new friends and enjoying fun activities and games. This dynamic three-day camp includes the following activities — electricity generation and transmission education, horseback riding, rock climbing and zip-lining, archery, alternative energy education, live line safety demonstration, swimming, and much, much more!! Application deadline is May 1.
