Spend a day in the Indiana Senate with students from REMCs around the state. 

Highlights include a Statehouse tour, mock bill activity, speakers and other educational activities. Students may have the opportunity to see the Indiana Legislature in action and meet their legislator.

REQUIREMENTS: You must be available on Jan. 23 and have reliable transportation to and from the Indiana Statehouse that day. The program is open to high school students.

by Jan. 11.


Touchstone Energy Camp: June 5–8

A fun, powerful and unique camp experience designed for students entering seventh grade in 2019. Horseback riding, canoeing, swimming, zip lining, learning about electrical safety and bucket truck rides.

APPLY: Go to www.kvremc.com and click on the “Community Programs” tab and then the “Youth Programs” tab for the Touchstone Energy Camp application. New this year, these applications must be completed online.


Indiana Youth Tour: June 13–20

Kankakee Valley REMC wants to send you on a weeklong, all-inclusive trip of a lifetime to Washington, D.C. Monuments, museums, legislators, friends, trip of a lifetime, history. Must be a high school junior to apply.

APPLY: Go to www.kvremc.com and click on the “Community Programs” tab and then the “Youth Programs” tab for the Youth Tour application. New this year, these applications must be completed online.


Scholarships

The Operation Round Up Trust Scholarship is open to high school seniors who will be attending a college, university or a technical school. Two $2,000 and four $1,000 scholarships are awarded annually. 

APPLY: Go to www.kvremc.com and click on the “Community Programs” tab and then the “Youth Programs” tab. The application deadline is March 1 at 3 p.m.  

To be eligible, students’ parents or legal guardians must be Kankakee Valley REMC member-owners and participating in Operation Round Up as of Feb. 1.
