Thanks to all of you who joined us for the virtual Annual Meeting that aired on Facebook on June 6.
Three directors were reelected in unopposed races. They were Shane Rasler in District 5, Jeff Brill in District 6, and Roger Domer in District 7 (at-large). More than 550 members voted in this year’s election.
“Instead of hosting an event here at our headquarters and asking you to take time out of your busy schedule to come see us, we are going to try to meet you where you are,” said CEO Mark Leu. “We are planning on setting up shop at various community events around the county so that we can, hopefully, have a chance to see you somewhere you were already planning to be. So look for us this year at the 4-H Fair, LaGrange’s Final Friday in July, the Prairie Heights/Lakeland “Milkcan” football game, and the Mongo Pigeon River Festival. Stay tuned to our social media pages as those events get closer for information on special member giveaways that will be available for those that come and visit us. We hope these events give you a chance to engage with us and provide feedback on how we can better serve you.”
Leu also spoke at the meeting on the Spark Broadband project. “Our network is fully deployed and, with few exceptions, all of our members have access to ultra fast, reliable internet service. With over 4,000 of you connected, we are excited to see the ongoing benefits this necessary service provides to our community.”
Leu closed his remarks with thanking the members for their engagement and participation. “I think one of the keys to our ongoing success is that we have always known our purpose — serving our members. And we will continue to do that day-in and day-out.”
The co-op randomly selected four members to receive a $100 (cash or bill credit) prize for voting in the director election. The winners that were drawn and notified were James S., Krista T., Greg G., and Bret H. Congratulations!
