Annual meeting goes virtual

official annual meeting notice

The Annual Meeting is our favorite event of the year, but the safety of LaGrange County REMC’s members, employees and board comes first. That’s why we’ve made the tough decision to transition our Annual Meeting to an online format this year amidst the COVID-19 pandemic.

While we won’t be hosting an in-person event, we were fortunate to have already put in place options for our members to vote from the comfort of their home, either online or by mail.

You’ll still have your voice heard, while staying safe.

Board of directors election

In mid-May, every member will be receiving a letter in the mail which will outline the instructions on how to vote either by sending in the included ballot or by going online.

To vote by mail, simply check the boxes next to your choice of candidate in each district, tear off the ballot portion and mail it back to the cooperative in the provided prepaid envelope.

If you have your email address attached to your account, you will receive an email the day the election opens to walk you through how to vote online. Otherwise, the ballot sent to each member in May will also include information on how you can vote online, making it even easier to cast your vote.

Mail-in and online ballots will need to be received by 5 p.m. on Friday, June 12, to be counted.

Regardless of how you choose to vote for the LaGrange County REMC Board of Directors, every member who votes will receive a $10 bill credit (one credit per account).

NOTE: Please do not include any bill payments with your mail-in ballot. We understand it’s tempting with the free postage, but instead, please call our office or use our app to make payments directly from home, for free.

Online annual meeting

Though you won’t be able to visit our office, you will be able to attend your annual meeting virtually. We will live stream the event on our Facebook at the annual meeting time — 4:30 p.m. on Friday, June 12.

You do not need a Facebook account in order to watch the meeting. On June 12, visit and scroll down until you find the most recent post, which should be our video. If at any point you’re prompted to put in your account information or create a new account, simply click “Not Now” at the bottom of that prompt, and it will disappear so you can continue watching.

If you would like to read over last year’s annual meeting minutes or review our 2019 financials before the meeting, visit or read June’s edition of the Indiana Connection.

We’re all going to miss the fun of the in-person meeting – live entertainment, porkburgers and bounce houses – but what we’re going to miss most is interacting with you, our members. But your safety, and the safety of our employees and our board, is our top priority.

We’ll see you next year with an ice cream cone in hand!
