A welcome change to your electric bill in 2026

At Heartland REMC, we understand that even small savings can make a meaningful difference in your household budget — especially as prices continue to rise for everyday essentials. That’s why I’m pleased to share a bit of good news: beginning with your Feb. 1 use, members across all rate classes will see a slight decrease in their monthly electric bills, averaging around 1-2%.

This reduction is the result of lower wholesale power supply costs, which Heartland REMC is passing directly through to our members. While the change may appear modest at first glance, it’s a clear reflection of the cooperative difference in action — when costs go down, you see the benefit.

These savings are not random. They are the result of the careful, forward-thinking work happening every day at Heartland REMC. From managing long-term power supply contracts to investing in system upgrades that reduce energy loss and improve efficiency, our team is focused on keeping your energy costs stable and your service reliable.

We’re continually reviewing how we operate and where we can improve. That includes modernizing our infrastructure and using technology to be more responsive when outages or issues arise. All of this helps keep your power affordable and dependable — now and in the future.

As a not-for-profit cooperative, our mission is simple: to provide our members with safe, reliable, and affordable electricity while investing in the communities we serve. This recent reduction is one small but meaningful reminder that we’re always working with your best interests in mind.

Thank you for being part of the Heartland REMC family. We’re proud to serve you — and we’ve got more exciting news coming soon. Be sure to watch your March newsletter for another important update we’re excited to share.
