At Jackson County REMC, we are always looking for ways to help our members manage costs while continuing to provide safe, reliable electric service. One easy way to save begins on April 1st and will be reflected on your May bill.
Members who enroll in paperless billing receive a $2 bill credit each month, per electric account. That is real savings that adds up over the year, and it requires no changes to your energy use.
If you are already signed up for paperless billing, there is nothing you need to do. The $2 credit will be automatically applied to each account enrolled, even if you have multiple accounts.
WHY PAPERLESS BILLING MAKES SENSE
Paperless billing is convenient, secure, and environmentally friendly. By reducing printing and mailing costs, we can operate more efficiently, which benefits the cooperative as a whole. Those savings are passed back to you in the form of a monthly bill credit.
With paperless billing, you still receive your bill on time through email or SmartHub, and you can view your billing history anytime.
LOOKING AHEAD TO APRIL 1
Beginning April 1, Jackson County REMC will implement a $5 increase to the Basic Service Charge across all rate types. The Basic Service Charge covers the fixed costs required to deliver electricity, including system maintenance, equipment, technology upgrades, and 24/7 outage response.
This adjustment represents the main portion of the overall rate change and helps keep the rate change balanced while maintaining the reliability our members expect.
By enrolling in paperless billing, members can offset part of this change. With the $2 monthly credit, the net impact of the Basic Service Charge increase would be only $3 per month.
UNDERSTANDING YOUR RATES
Energy charges vary by rate type. Members can view detailed kWh pricing by selecting their specific rate type on the Rates page of our website. If you are unsure which rate you are on, our team is always happy to help.
WE ARE HERE FOR YOU
Jackson County REMC is a not-for-profit electric cooperative, owned by the members we serve. Every dollar collected goes back into maintaining and improving the electric system that powers our communities.
