Boone REMC is rebranding. We’re changing our name to Boone Power to better reflect who we are today and where we’re headed in the future.
This update isn’t just about a new logo. It’s about creating a stronger identity — one that represents the growing communities we serve while staying rooted in our cooperative values. Our service area has grown far beyond its rural origins, with thriving neighborhoods, commercial projects, and new residents joining every day. But “Rural Electric Membership Corporation” doesn’t always make sense to the people we serve now. We’ve heard your feedback through satisfaction surveys and focus groups.
With our new headquarters under construction and exciting progress on the horizon, now is the perfect time to evolve. The new Boone Power brand will:
- Clear up confusion about what we do and who we serve,
- Better connect with younger and more diverse members, and
- Proudly carry forward our legacy of reliable, locally owned service.
We will share more details about the new name and logo soon. But one of the first places you’ll see it is right on your August bill, which brings us to another important change:
Your electric bill is getting a makeover
Beginning with your August bill, you will notice a fresh new design. The layout is being updated to help you more easily track your usage, understand charges, and stay informed. Here’s what’s to expect:
Clearer bill summary: The top of your bill will highlight the total amount due and due date in an easier-to-read format.
Enhanced use details: We’re improving the monthly use section so you can better understand your household’s consumption. The new bill format will show your average daily use, average daily cost, and average daily temperature. This added insight can help you compare your energy use with the weather and spot patterns that may help you save.
Easier-to-read charts: The new format will include a larger bar graph showing your monthly energy use over the past year, alongside high and low temperatures. This will provide an at-a-glance view of seasonal trends and how your current use stacks up to previous months and years.
Improved efficiency: You can still pay your bill the same way: on our website, through SmartHub, by phone, by mail, or at our office. But now, if you mail us a check, leave a payment in our secure drop box, or pay in person at our office, we will be able to scan a barcode on your bill stub and more quickly apply your payment to your account.
Stay tuned for a full explanation of the new bill design. In August, we will include a “how to read your bill” flyer with paper bills sent through the mail, and post additional information on our website.
