Fall is a busy season, and October is especially eventful with school, community, and sports activities in full swing. It’s also when cooperatives across the country celebrate National Cooperative Month. When Marshall County REMC celebrates, we are celebrating you our members. After all, our co-op wouldn’t exist without you.

Our core purpose is to provide safe, reliable electricity, but our mission goes further. As a cooperative, we are guided by seven principles, including Concern for Community. Like the lines connecting our system, our commitment to community runs through everything we do.

Marshall County REMC is led by employees and a local board of directors — neighbors who live right here. Because we’re local, we understand the needs of our members and work to help meet them.

One way we do this is by investing in young people. Each year, we send students to Youth Tour in Washington, D. C., and Camp Kilowatt all expenses paid. These opportunities allow students to gain leadership skills, learn about government and the cooperative difference, and make lasting friendships. Several of our employees also volunteer as chaperones, giving their time to help guide and encourage local youth.

We also proudly host the 4-H Electric program right here at the co-op. Through four hands-on workshops, 4-Hers receive guidance and learn valuable electrical skills as they build their projects. It’s a great way to inspire curiosity while preparing the next generation of leaders in our industry.

We’re equally proud to give back through Operation Round Up, a program that allows members to round up their bills to the nearest dollar. Those small contributions make a big difference for local organizations and neighbors in need.

As your trusted energy partner, we also focus on helping members save money and energy. Programs like Power Moves rebates, pre-paid metering, and the SmartHub app give you more control.

Marshall County REMC remains committed to operating efficiently while providing the reliable, friendly service you expect. Built by the members we serve, we will always put you — our members — first.
