A team of KV REMC linemen showcased their talents and training at the Indiana Electric Cooperative Lineman Rodeo held in August at the Hendricks County Fairgrounds.

The event brought together more than 130 linemen from 26 Indiana cooperatives to compete in challenges that test the skills of their trade, from climbing poles and performing hurt man rescues to safely changing out line hardware.

Representing KV REMC this year were Journeyman Lineman Shawn Dupree and Apprentice Linemen Jordan Winings, Chris Chaplin, Phillip Marek, Gage Granadino, and Tim Morgart. This was KV REMCs third year sending a team to the competition.

A highlight of the competition came when Apprentice Lineman Phillip Marek earned first place with his mutual aid team, bringing home a Milwaukee Tool of his choice as the prize.

Chris Chaplin and Tim Morgart compete in the Underarm Switch Change competition.

Jordan Winings participates in Hurt Man Rescue.

Phillip Marek took first place with his mutual aid team.
