The Jackson County REMC Board of Directors has declared that the capital credits that were allocated to members for the year 1994 are eligible for refund, with payments scheduled to begin at the end of November. Members and heirs of members who had service during this year are eligible to file claims.
NOTICES WERE MAILED OUT DURING THE MONTH OF SEPTEMBER.
If you were a member in 1994 and you received a mailed notice, it is because we have a valid address for you in our records. Please fill out and return the claim form that accompanies the notice.
If you were a member in 1994, have not previously claimed prior years capital credits, and did not receive a notice, go online at jacksonremc.com to confirm you have a refund available and download an inactive account claim form. You can also call the office at 812-358-4458 or 800-288-4458 to check if a refund is available. We can mail an inactive account claim form to you.
If you are an heir of a member who had service in 1994 and is now deceased, you can either go online at jacksonremc.com to check if there is a refund available and download an estate claim packet, or you can call the office at 812-358-4458 or 800-288-4458 to confirm there is a refund available and receive an estate claim packet by mail.
If you need to update your name and address for a future capital credit refund, you may obtain a name and address change form
by going online or by calling the office.

Please note: If you received a capital credit allocation refund for the years 1950 to 1993, you do not need to reapply for the new refund period. The refund for the new period will automatically be sent to the address we have on file.
BE WILLIE WISE AROUND ELECTRIC!
Always be aware of the location of power lines, particularly when using long metal ladders and other tools like pool skimmers and pruning poles.
Be sure to lower long equipment when moving it. Ladders and other long items should be carried horizontally whenever possible.
