In September, the Student Board members gathered for their monthly meeting, focusing on exploring the role of a lineman at Fulton County REMC. Students learned what it takes to keep the power flowing, from daily responsibilities to the challenge linemen face on the job.
To bring the lesson to life, students participated in a hands-on line build scenario. Tasked with repairing a line after a tree had fallen, they quickly jumped into action, grabbing parts, asking questions, and most importantly, working together as a team.
In record time, they had the line restored.
The meeting wrapped up with an exciting opportunity for students to take a ride in the bucket truck, giving them a new perspective on the essential work linemen do every day.
