The 2025 REMC Fish Fry was one to remember, from the incredible turnout to the difficult challenges to the unbelievable cooperative spirit.
More than 1,300 people showed up at our office that Friday afternoon, far exceeding what weve seen at past events. We were thrilled to welcome so many of you. The live music was full of energy, the seat cushion giveaway was very popular, and over $5,000 was raised for our Lend a Hand program!
That said, I also need to offer a sincere apology. The food service delays were unacceptable. Members waited far too long in extreme heat, and for that, Im truly sorry. Our plans for attendance and giveaways were based on past events, and the 2025 Fish Fry was nothing like our past events.

Still, what stood out most was the grace and resilience everyone involved showed. I saw employees handing out water and snacks, directing traffic under a blazing sun, and staying upbeat well beyond their usual roles, going above and beyond without hesitation.
I also saw members who were hot, tired, and hungry choosing patience over frustration, kindness over complaining, and still finding moments to laugh and reconnect with neighbors. That spirit of cooperation and community is what makes our co-op so special.
Were already working on improvements for future events, guided by your feedback, and were committed to doing better. So, to those who came, thank you for your support and for sticking with us. And to those we missed, well have more opportunities to gather and get it right.
