June board meeting notes

    To keep you informed of your cooperative’s operations and activities, the following are highlights of the June 26 board meeting. 

    1. All directors were present, along with CEO Steve Seibert and Administrative Assistant Lisa Hinton.  
    2. The May 28 board meeting minutes were reviewed and approved.
    3. The membership certificates were reviewed.
    4. The vouchers were reviewed and approved.
    5. The director’s reports were reviewed and approved.
    6. Seibert provided an update on the FTTH/broadband project with PSC.
    7. The CEO report was the first item of new business, with Seibert reporting the following items:
      • Review of the 2024 Service Order and New Member Survey results
      • GIS project update
      • MISO warning of June 23
      • July Indiana Connection magazine article
      • Cost of Service Study kickoff meeting
      • Capital credit notices to be mailed to former members in July. Checks to be issued in November.
      • Two linemen assisted SCI REMC with storm restoration.
      • A pole attachment request issue
      • Seibert informed the board of the following meeting dates: CFC Forum June 30-July 2, Annual Meeting Committee Meeting July 22, IEC Director’s Retreat July 25-26, IEC Lineman Rodeo Aug. 21-22, NRECA Regional Meeting Sept. 3-5, and IEC Legislative Fly-In Sept. 16. 
    8. Robert White, safety and risk management instructor at IEC, performed DOT load securement safety training on June 26. Seibert advised there were no lost time accidents or public liability claims to report.
    9. Director Gary Waninger was selected delegate and Director Randy Kleaving alternate to the NRECA Region I & IV meeting, which will be held Sept. 3-5.
    10. Kleaving was selected delegate and Waninger alternate to the CFC district meeting to be held Sept. 4.
    11. Waninger and Seibert reported on the ACES meeting held May 29 and 30.
    12. Director David Lynch, Kleaving, and Seibert reported on the IEC Regional Meeting held June 18.
    13. Director training information was provided to directors.
    14. Chairman Jeff Vogel shared the thank-you notes received from Lincoln Trail Elementary and Gregg Hopsicker, VP of Distribution Services at SCI REMC.
    15. The next regularly scheduled board of directors meeting will be Wednesday, July 30.
