District 1: Allen, Erie, Jefferson, Perry, Peru, Richland  and Union townships of Miami County and Paw Paw Township of Wabash County

Dennis (Jim) Savage has been a Miami-Cass REMC member for 44 years and has lived on the co-op’s lines all his life. He currently serves as president of the REMC’s board of directors and has received his Board Leadership Certificate from the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association (NRECA). Savage also serves on the Wabash Valley Power Alliance board of directors.

He is a farmer and milk transport driver. Savage and his wife, Candy, have three daughters, one son and nine grandchildren. The Savages attend Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church, and he enjoys motorcycling and boating.

Over the next few years as an REMC director, he would like to see all members have access to high-speed broadband with fiber while keeping the core business of electricity affordable and reliable.

District 3: Deer Creek, Jackson, Tipton and Washington townships of Cass County

Scott Marschand has been an REMC member for over 40 years.

Marschand recently retired from Delphi Automotive in Kokomo where he worked in various management positions during his career. He and his wife, Cindy, have been married for 41 years. The couple has three grown children — two sons and a daughter — plus three grandchildren.

He is a former member of the Lions Club and also served on the school board for Southeastern School Corporation. Marschand is a member of the Galveston United Methodist Church and enjoys sports, hunting and spending time with his family.

Over the next few years as an REMC director, Marschand would like to see the REMC continue to maintain its financial stability. He would also like to work to provide the most cost-effective electric power and internet service to its members

District 4: Butler, Clay, Deer Creek, Harrison, Jackson, Pipe Creek and Washington townships of Miami County

Don Willson has been a Miami-Cass REMC member for over 20 years, and has served as a director since 2001. He appreciates that the REMC is member-owned with strong employees and managers. Willson has a strong faith and trust in what they do.

Willson is farmer. He and his wife, Patty, have three married sons. Willson is thankful for the opportunity to serve on the REMC board and looks forward to discussing new challenges and possibly new services with his fellow board members. He wishes God’s blessing on the community he serves and this great nation.

Note: As there was no opposition for these director positions, the above candidates will automatically retain their positions on the board of directors and no vote is needed.
