LaGrange County REMC was honored to sponsor Prairie Heights Middle School seventh grader Tucker Diehm to attend Camp Kilowatt at Happy Hollow Children’s Camp in Nashville, Indiana, this summer.

Campers make lasting friendships with students from across Indiana, enjoy outdoor adventures like zip lining, rock climbing, archery, swimming, and more while building teamwork, leadership, and problem-solving skills. They also experience hands-on electrical education activities with electric vehicles, a live-line safety demonstration, and more.

In his own words, Tucker describes his camp experience:

When I first arrived at camp, I wasn’t quite sure what to do. I was completely exhausterwhelmulated! I was the only one from my county at camp, and I didn’t know anyone. However, I quickly made a friend, and we spent the rest of camp together.

We made a great team at Ga-Ga Ball. We were cooking everyone…until it turned into every person for themselves! My favorite part was on the last day when we got to team up, guys vs. girls. And, of course, the boys won!

We did so many fun activities, including archery, making circuit boards, swimming, a high ropes course, zip lining, and creating skits about electricity. I got to try so many new things! This was my first overnight camp, my first time doing a ropes course and zip lining, and even my first-ever dance.

The weather did take away from some of our activities, but we made the best of it and still had an amazing time. Camp was so much fun that I wish I could go back next year!

My cabin even ended camp by winning the award for Cleanest Cabin!

If you want to meet new people, try new and challenging things, and enjoy your summer in a really cool place, this is definitely the camp to go to!
