Steuben County REMC members continue to make a meaningful difference across the community through the Operation Round Up program. This quarter, members awarded grants to four local organizations supporting food security, athlete inclusion, the performing arts, and healthcare access throughout the region.

Operation Round Up allows participating members to round up their monthly electric bill to the nearest dollar. While the average contribution is only about $6 per member annually, those small donations add up to a significant local impact. Since the program began in 2004, Steuben County REMC members have contributed over $900,000 to community projects and nonprofit organizations across the area.

The Steuben County REMC Operation Round Up program is also currently accepting grant applications. The next application deadline is Sept. 25. Eligible 501(c)(3) organizations can apply through the Steuben County Community Foundation grant portal at steubenfoundation.org by selecting “Apply” and then “Grants.”
