June board meeting notes

To keep you informed of your cooperative’s operations and activities, the following are highlights of the June 24 board meeting.

1. All directors were present along with CEO Steve Seibert, Administrative Assistant Lisa Hinton, and Manager of Finance & Accounting Amy Ramsey.

2. The May 26 board meeting minutes were reviewed and approved.

3. The membership certificates were reviewed.

4. The vouchers were reviewed and approved.

5. The director’s reports were reviewed and approved.

6. The CEO report was the first item of new business, with Seibert reporting on the following items:

a. Manager of Member Services position

b. Office construction project

c. GIS project

d. Fiber project

e. Capital credit notices to be mailed to former members in July. Checks to be issued in November.

f. Seibert informed the board of the following meeting dates: Annual Meeting Committee Meeting, July 21; IEC Director’s Retreat, July 24-25; IEC Lineman Rodeo, Aug. 20-21; NRECA Regional Meeting, Sept. 9-11; and IEC Legislative Fly-In, Sept. 16.

7. Robert White, safety and risk management instructor at IEC, performed bucket truck rescue, emergency “mayday” procedures, pole top rescue, and forklift safety training on June 15. Seibert advised that there were no lost-time accidents and no public liability claims to report.

8. Ramsey presented the IRS Form 990 Questionnaire.

9. Director Kyle Knieriem was selected delegate and Director Gary Waninger alternate to the NRECA Region I & IV meeting to be held Sept. 9-11.

10. Waninger was selected as delegate and Knieriem as alternate to the CFC district meeting to be held on Sept. 10.

11. Waninger and Seibert reported on the ACES meeting held May 28-29.

12. Director Randy Kleaving reported on the IEC Regional Meeting held on June 12.

13. Director Chris Burroughs reported on the CFC Forum held June 15-17.

14. Director training information was provided to directors.

15. Chairman Jeff Vogel shared a thank-you note received from Spencer County Soil & Water Conservation District.

16. The next regularly scheduled board of directors meeting will be on Wednesday, July 29.
