You’re a member-owner, and one of the most important ways you can make your voice heard is by voting in your board of directors election.

I know a board election may not seem like a big deal. Life gets busy, and it’s easy to let it slip by. But the people you elect today will help make decisions that shape the future of your cooperative for years to come. 

The electric industry is changing faster than ever. The demand for electricity continues to grow, new technologies and regulations are changing how we operate, and cybersecurity is more important than ever. Even with the changes, one commitment remains: to provide you with safe, reliable, and affordable electricity.

To do that, it takes good judgment and strong leadership. The role of your elected board of directors is to guide the future of KV REMC. They don’t manage the day-to-day operations, but they set the cooperative’s direction to ensure we’re planning for the future. 

Your directors are your neighbors. They live in the communities that KV REMC serves and understand the needs of community residents and what matters most to you. 

As the electric industry changes, having board members you trust should be important. That is the one big difference between electric cooperatives and other utilities — local people elected by you guide the co-op. 

Voting for directors is a cooperative principle and gives every member a real say in KV REMC’s future. Later this month, you will have the chance to make your voice heard, so please take a few minutes to cast your vote in the director’s election.
