One of the greatest strengths of an electric cooperative is the connection we share with our members, and that was on full display at this year’s Annual Meeting Meet and Greet at the Bartholomew County 4-H Fair.

On June 23, over 1,000 members joined us for a beautiful summer evening at the fair, making this the best-attended event in our history. We were truly overwhelmed and grateful for the incredible turnout. Seeing so many familiar faces and having the opportunity to visit with members in person is something our employees and directors look forward to every year.

As a token of our appreciation, members received free parking and food vouchers, which provided a great opportunity to enjoy some favorite fair foods while supporting local organizations and vendors that help make our county fair such a special community event.

We extend a sincere thank you to the vendors who accepted our vouchers and helped create a great experience for our members:

  • Beef Cattlemen
  • Conservation Club (fish)
  • HSJ Online (corn dogs and cotton candy)
  • Kiwanis (chicken)
  • Pork Producers
  • Rural Youth (ice cream)
  • Shrine Club (funnel cakes)
  • Sno Biz Snow Cones
  • Special Olympics Tea
  • St. Paul Lutheran Church (walking tacos)

Seeing so many members at the fair was a reminder of what makes our cooperative special. Bartholomew County REMC is more than an electric utility; we are a member-owned organization built on community, and events like this allow us to celebrate those connections.

A special thank you goes out to our employees, directors, parking volunteers, and participating vendors who helped make the evening a success. Most importantly, thank you to our members for joining us. We appreciate your support and hope you will join us for our next event, Member Appreciation Day, on Oct. 20 from 3-6:30 p.m.

Be sure to go here for photos from the evening and a look back at this year’s record-setting Meet and Greet.
