To keep you informed about your cooperative’s operations and activities, here are highlights from the March 30 board meeting.
- All directors were present. Also present were CEO Steve Seibert, Administrative Assistant Lisa Hinton, Manager of Finance and Accounting Amy Ramsey, and Brett Schipp of Universal Design Associates. Present via Webex was Earl Ridlen of the auditing firm LWG.
- The Feb. 25, 2026, board meeting minutes were reviewed and approved.
- The membership certificates were reviewed.
- The vouchers were reviewed and approved.
- The preliminary February director’s reports were reviewed.
- Ridlen of LWG reviewed the 2025 Audit Report in detail. Following the review, the board approved the 2025 Audit Report as presented.
- Schipp provided a bid review of the office construction project.
- The CEO report was presented, with Seibert reporting the following items:
- Fiber project update
- 2025 Hoosier Energy capital credit allocation
- 2026 PAC contributions
- Data center update
- Hoosier Energy Bandon 69KV outage
- EAP moratorium
- Upcoming meeting dates: Hoosier Energy Annual Meeting – April 8, Linemen Appreciation Day – April 13, Southern Indiana Power Annual Meeting – April 16, NRECA Legislative Conference – April 16-19, Administrative Professionals Day – April 22, ACES Member Conference May 28-29, CFC Forum – July 14-17
- Robert White, safety and risk management instructor with IEC, conducted forklift safety training on March 17. Seibert advised that there were no lost-time accidents and no public liability claims to report.
- The board approved the recommended changes to the cooperative safety rules.
- The board approved the retirement of the 2001 capital credit allocations in 2026. The capital credit distribution will be in November.
- The board approved the 2028-2031 work plan engineer.
- Seibert will provide proposals for the 2026-2027 audit.
- Director Kyle Knieriem reported on the NRECA PowerXchange conference held March 9-11.
- Director Gary Waninger reported on a Hoosier Energy board meeting held on March 23.
- Director Waninger reported on an Operation Round Up trustees meeting held on March 24. Six grant applications totaling $15,769 and nine scholarships totaling $4,500 were approved for funding.
- The next regularly scheduled board of directors meeting will be held on Thursday, April 30.
