District 1
Michael Huppenthal represents members in District 1. He has earned the Credentialed Cooperative Director Certificate (CCD) through the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association (NRECA). He was raised in Schererville, Indiana, and moved to LaGrange in 1993. Huppenthal retired from TC Energy after more than 32 years of service. He is a life member of the Sons of the American Legion Post #215. Huppenthal enjoys volunteering in the community and camping at Hogback Lake. He and his wife, Rachel, have three children and reside in Howe.
District 2
Terry Holsinger represents members in District 2. He has lived his entire life in the district. Holsinger has been married to his wife, Jody, for 45 years and has four married children and 12 grandchildren with the 13th expected in May.
He is very proud of the REMC, what it has accomplished, and the excellent service provided to its members. Holsinger has always made his decisions in the boardroom based on what would be best for the member-owners. He holds his CCD and Board Leadership Certificate (BLC) from NRECA. Holsinger is educated, dedicated, trustworthy, and has always taken his responsibility as a board representative very seriously. He humbly asks for your vote and continued support in representing his members on the cooperative’s board.
Brett Bateman is a lifelong member of the LaGrange County community and is a federal employee with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), working in a Voluntary Safety Reporting Program.
His focus is on identifying risks and improving systems before problems occur. Bateman is a Lakeland graduate and has FAA certifications in RADAR, automation, communications, and weather systems in the national airspace.
He brings a combination of hands-on experience, public service, and a deep commitment to the people this cooperative serves. Bateman serves as vice president of the LCYC Board, president of LaGrange Baseball & Softball League, and president of the Lakeland School Corporation Board of Trustees.
He previously worked for the REMC’s outside department for three years, where he gained firsthand knowledge of the hard work it takes to keep the lights on in our rural communities. As a business owner, he understands the importance of controlling costs and making responsible financial decisions. Bateman and his wife, Melissa, have two children and live in Howe.
