As summer begins, so does higher energy use and peak demand periods. With June marking the start of peak season, now is a good time to take a closer look at how and when you use electricity.

BCREMC’s time-of-use (TOU) rate is available to all members and can help lower your bill by shifting energy use to lower-cost times of the day. It is not just for electric vehicle owners. Simple changes like running laundry, dishwashers, or heating water outside peak hours can make a noticeable difference.

The TOU rate reflects when electricity costs more to produce and deliver. By adjusting when you use energy, you can better control your costs.

With peak season underway, it is a good time to consider whether the TOU rate is a fit for your household.
