Young people have a remarkable way of reminding us what’s possible. Their creativity, curiosity, and enthusiasm add color to the communities we live in today and will shape the future we are building together. Whether they are learning a new skill, discovering a passion, or stepping into leadership for the first time, today’s students continue to inspire confidence and hope. At Clark County REMC, we believe that when we invest in young people, we are investing in strong communities and a bright future. This month, I’d like to highlight several 2026 youth opportunities.

• Students of all ages: Submit your best artwork in the Cooperative Student Art Contest. One winner is chosen from each grade level, with cash prizes of up to $100.

• Incoming 7th Graders: Apply for a spot at Camp Kilowatt, hosted by Happy Hollow Children’s Camp in Nashville, Indiana. Participate in rock climbing, ziplining, archery, horseback riding, and much more, while learning about electrical safety and the nation’s power grid.

• Incoming Juniors: Apply for a weeklong trip to Washington, D. C. Explore Capitol Hill, visit national monuments, and connect with co-op students from around the country.

• High school graduates: Apply for one of 20 $1,000 scholarships to IUS, Ivy Tech and Purdue Polytechnic, or compete for the $2,500 Cindy Hockensmith Memorial Scholarship to attend any Indiana college or university.

Deadlines to apply are approaching fast, so don’t delay! Details and applications can be found at ClarkREMC.coop/youth.
