Official notice: Board election process begins

boarddistrictmap1new_erikaThe Paulding Putnam Electric Cooperative board of trustees consists of nine co-op members who each represent one district within the territory served by Paulding Putnam Electric Cooperative (PPEC).

The trustees are responsible for establishing, reviewing and revising corporate policies to ensure that service to the PPEC membership remains foremost in mind, while maintaining a stable yet competitive position in the industry by setting rate structures.
Each trustee serves a three-year term, but because of the recent code of regulation revision vote by the members, there are now no term limits moving forward. Elections are held annually by the membership prior to the annual meeting in March.

The upcoming election will be for candidates in districts 1, 6, and 9.

  • District 1 includes members who reside in Allen and Adams counties in Indiana and in the following townships: Marion, Madison, Monroe, Preble and Union. This position is held by Gerald Sorg, but he will be retiring.
  • District 6 includes members living in Paulding County — Auglaize, Brown, Latty and Washington townships — as well as those living in Defiance County — Defiance and Highland townships. This position is held by incumbent Dr. John Saxton.
  • District 9 includes members living in Putnam County — Pleasant, Union, Ottawa and Riley township. The position is held by incumbent Gary Hayden.
